Professor Thom’s, the bar that’s painted a seemingly random series of Lost-style numbers above its entrance, is throwing two parties. Online magazine Slate is offering insights into the show, with hosts including Chadwick Matlin, who taught a college course on the social, economic and technological implications of Lost at Tufts’s Experimental College. A happy hour between 7:30 and 8:30pm—including Ana Cortez’s favorite drink, tequila and tonic—will loosen you up for a preshow discussion, in which correct predictions for the ending will earn you a prize instead of those strange looks you’ve been getting. Beer garden Studio Square has a regular Lost viewing night organized by the Queens blog/forum/pep squad Why Leave Astoria?!, so expect a rapt audience watching the final episode on one of the five mounted 42-inch or single 60-inch HD TVs with surround sound. Make sure the $5 glasses of sangria, $12 Blue Moon pitchers and $5 Lost on the Beach cocktails don’t make you rowdy, or you’ll be more unpopular than the Others. If you don’t think you’ll be able to sleep after having your mind blown seven ways to Sunday by the ending, hang out at Fontana’s free projector screening. They’ll follow the climax with an “Aloha to Lost,” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! at 12:05am, which features creators Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof. Just don’t get too blotto with the $3 Radebergers, or themed cocktails like the Hurley Burley (Goslings dark rum, Malibu and Coke; $8) during happy hour from 7 to 8pm.
